I have been waiting a very long time. I am alone in this world. But he is coming for me.

I know not from where he comes. I know not how long I have been in this place. I only know that he is coming for me.

I have forgotten what a minute is. I have forgotten a day, I have forgotten years. All I know is this place, and this loneliness.

I know this silence. I know how it grips at my skin. I know these roots, and how they twist at my feet. I know this place as I know myself.

I know the place of every root in the earth, of every leaf on the ground. As the leaves move they make a sound. I haven't heard this sound for a very long time. He's coming.

I only know this place. I only know he will come for me. I will know him when I see him. But does he know me? I have waited so long to meet him. I thought only of his arrival. I never thought of anything else.

I have waited for this moment. I spent every forgotten minute, every forgotten day, every forgotten year waiting for this moment. It is here. He is here.

I watch him quietly. I can see every hair on his head. I can see every freckle on his face. I wonder if he will look at me the same way.

I know he is here for me. I hear it in the shuffle of his footsteps. I see it in the stretch of his fingers. I know that he is coming for me.

I lie here quietly. I fear to move from this place. I do not want this to change. I knew he would come if I stayed. When he finds me, what will happen then?
